Job description & RequirementsBASIC RESPONSBILITIES
The role will entail investigating root causes of failure and implementing actions to prevent reoccurrences. This will include carrying out feasibility studies and implementing process changes and or modifications. The role is expected to develop reliability centred maintenance and condition based maintenance regimes for both road and rail applications.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Devising sampling procedures and designing and developing forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
• Identifying root causes using effective investigative techniques.
• Developing and implementing methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devising methods to assess cost and responsibility liability.
• Compiling reports on discrepant material for both customer and internal review to support costing discussions with customers
• Developing and initiating work instructions for inspection, assembly and testing to make processes more robust based on gathered reliability data.
• Managing day to day quality related activities including internal audits, material review boards and non conformances. Extensive knowledge and ability to maintain quality records and document control to ISO9001.
• Perform such other duties as may be required from time to time.
A proactive approach is essential to succeed in this role to ensure that the company maintains its high quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
With a relevant academic qualification (degree level) and experience in road or rail transport, you’ll have a good knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques and FMECA. You’ll also need good fault finding skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Candidates should have proven experience of quality systems in an engineering environment, preferably within the automotive or rail industries.
