Our client is looking to recruit a Senior Principal Engineer for Services Management Toolsets. You will be responsible for the strategy, architecture and design of Telecom Operational Support Systems (OSS) / Business Support Systems (BSS) and integration mechanisms for legacy systems and new large scale integrated systems.
You will act as a solution authority, consultant, advisor and contributor to our client’s bid and delivery projects and take the leading role in defining and developing technologies that our client will use to support Service Management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to Service Management projects through assessment, design and implementation of service management technologies
• Provide assessments of technologies used for the management of ICT services, applications, systems, storage and networks
• Support the definition of technology requirements and the selection of Service Management technologies in support of target state process designs
• Contribute to the configuration, implementation and integration of service management technologies
• Contribute to the development of client deliverables such as assessment reports, requirement documents, technical architectures designs, operational procedures, user guides and training plans
• Organize and document findings of studies, develop proofs of concept and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems and procedures
• Manage client relationships in delivery roles
• Contribute to the growth of our clients business through solution and business development support
• Mentor and manage junior team members
• Work with third party suppliers providing system components
• Ensure system integrity is maintained and that all applicable standards are maintained
You should be:
• Educated to degree level in Computer Science or related subject – preferably to Higher Degree level (i.e. M.Sc. or PhD)
• Trained in the use of mainstream COTS integration methodologies
• Formal training and experience in systems analysis methods
• Membership of a professional body – desirable (e.g. IEE, BCS, itSMF, TMF)
Strong background in IT operations and / or support; Experience in Service Management initiatives; Full lifecycle development experience; Excellent ability to research, evaluate and recommend technical solutions including open source and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products; Expertise in designing high volume, 24/7 high availability & highly secure applications including web-based; Skillful in identifying architectural risks
Highly Desirable: Experience in IT Systems and Applications environment and experience architecting Service Management Toolsets; Experience and certification in the IT Infrastructure Library ITIL or TM Forum eTOM
Knowledge of tools that would be advantageous;
• Hands-on experience with one or more leading IT management product families e.g. HP OpenView, Micromuse, BMC PatrolRemedy, Tivoli, CA Unicenter, Remedy, EMC Smarts, etc
• Rational Enterprise Modeller,
• Rational Rose
• Telelogic DOORS,
• Telelogic System Architect,
Ability to formulate solutions and courses of action from small pieces of information; Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills; Strong presentation skills and ability to present technical information to a business audience; Strong interpersonal and team building skills, leadership skills; Customer-focused; Strong personal organization; time management, planning, and project coordination skills; Ability to cover multiple projects
Must be able to work in a matrix organization and team environments.- Project Management skills
