We are currently recruiting for a Test Manager for one of our clients in Hampshire. The role is a 2 year fixed term contract.
Candidates will need to be high caliber individuals with systems integration and testing skills, along with satellite experience if possible. It is likely that there will be permanent opportunities towards the end of the 2 years.
Description of the job
To manage a team of Test Engineers in the UK to perform Integration, and formal Verification & Validation activities on an IP based Satcom System.
The Manager will direct the team to implement tests as detailed by the System Test Design Authority. They will ensure that documentation as required by the System Test Architect is produced to support Test Reviews.
The Manager will have a flexible attitude to coping with dynamic targets and changing priorities.
Technical - Professional skills
Otherskills - Management of engineering team, with responsibility for achieving milestones, cost and quality.
VV&T experience in either/both IP networks and Satcom Communications
Experience in
- Team Management, day to day management of a Test Team
- Planning of integration activities and schedule management against tight timescale's, including risk and contingency planning
- Provide reports on project progress to System VV&T Manager.
- Setting/agreeing work packages (cost/schedule/scope).
- Ensure compliance with project quality requirements and relevant procedures. Inform QA of any quality problems identified and assist in resolution of problem.
- Performance Testing of Voice, Data and IP traffic over Communications
Networks
- Management Systems in the communications field including; Order
Handling, Service Planning, Network Planning, Network Element Configuration
- Satcom modems
Other skills - Documentation and Communications skills
- Team Player
- Organised/Methodical approach
- Communicative and drive to achieve targets without continual supervision.
Duration 24 Months
Mobility International travel will be required. SC Clearance will be required.
